IX: sketch, Wounded

This is a scene from Ex-One's story, a moment that makes me quite sad. :/ It all has a plot value, I assure you. It's not just random angst.

Poor Three. D: He lies broken and wounded, and Four desperately tries to get him to speak ^{(in their language, I presume)} to let him know he's all right...

Here's a small excerpt from the story. I may post this story later if I feel like it:

"Pain was flaring down Four’s body like fire. He cringed, eyes shut, hands clutching the gaping tear in his stomach. Why had that thing attacked them? It was like them! Why had it attacked—Three!

"He scrambled to his feet, stumbling and cringing, and raced to his twin. Three! He fell to his knees hard, grabbing Three’s hands and clutching them tight in his own. His eyes flashed hysterically, relaying their version of speech to each other. Three! Are you okay? Talk to me! Can you hear me?!

"Three’s eyes were shut. They fluttered, then flickered. I—I—‘m… I… help… Fo—… The eyes of his brother flickered, weakly, feebly, then flicked, flicked, then died out. His eyes shut, head falling limp.

"No! No! Three! Four clutched his broken brother to his front in despair, then looked up, thinking fast. He had to get Three help. He had to get him out of here. He was dying. He needed help, no! He gathered his brother up in his arms the best he could. Oh, God, Three… Four struggled to his feet, wincing himself for the gash in his front. No time, don’t let that slow you down! Go! Go! Go!

There was only one place that Four could think of to go. So, with Three limp and quiet in his arms, his own legs shaky from pain and shock, he stumbled off at a hurried run. He didn’t want to run after the thing that had attacked them, but he had to leave the library. So he ran. And ran. And ran."
